NEW Allergy & Anaphylaxis Awareness Training Coming to Splat Training This September to help schools and nurseries be allergy ready!

With more children than ever living with severe allergies, and major changes coming into schools this year through Benedict’s Law, it has never been more important for staff to feel calm, confident, and prepared if an emergency happens.

What is Benedict’s Law?

Benedict’s Law is a new set of national allergy safety measures being introduced for schools in England. The campaign was created to help ensure schools are better prepared to prevent and respond to severe allergic reactions and anaphylaxis emergencies.

From September 2026, schools are expected to have:

🟢 Whole-school allergy policies
🟢 Annual Staff allergy awareness and anaphylaxis training
🟢 Access to emergency adrenaline auto-injectors (AAIs)
🟢 Individual healthcare and allergy action plans for pupils with allergies

The final statutory guidance from the Department for Education and Anaphylaxis UK is expected to be released during Summer 2026 ahead of full implementation in September.

As always at Splat, our training will be practical, supportive, engaging, and designed specifically for real-life situations in schools and early years settings – helping staff feel reassured, empowered, and ready to respond confidently.

We’ll be offering the training in two flexible ways:

🧡 Open Courses
Perfect for individual staff members or smaller teams wanting to attend one of our scheduled sessions at Todmorden College.

🧡 Whole School / Block Bookings
One of our friendly trainers can come directly into your school or setting to deliver training.

At the moment, we are still waiting for the final guidance and course recommendations from Anaphylaxis UK, which are expected in July. Once these are released, we’ll be able to confirm the full course content.

However, because interest is already building fast, we are now opening up:

Advance enquiries
Bookings for September onwards for both open and block bookings

We already know this is going to be an incredibly important area of training for schools preparing for the new academic year, and we expect demand to be very high. If your school would like first choice of dates, we’d strongly recommend getting in touch early.

The course is expected to include:

🟢 Understanding allergies and anaphylaxis
🟢 Recognising signs and symptoms quickly
🟢 Responding confidently in an emergency
🟢 Safe use of adrenaline auto-injectors and nasal sprays
🟢 Supporting pupils with allergies in school and nursery settings
🟢 Helping staff feel reassured, prepared, and confident

If you have any questions please get in touch – this is a big scary thing for settings, but Splat are here to hold your hand.

At Splat Training, we believe great training should leave people feeling empowered, supported, and confident – and we can’t wait to help schools create even safer environments for children with allergies.
