Restart a Heart Day 2025

💓 From Restart a Heart Day to CPR Champions: How We’re Helping More People Save Lives
Every October, Restart a Heart Day reminds us how powerful CPR can be – and how important it is that everyone feels confident to try.
This year Splat developed a new way to celebrate Restart a Heart Day and train as many people as possible in just one day; we cascaded the learning! Splat joined schools bring lifesaving learning to life. But, as always, we did it the Splat way — serious skills taught playfully.

We visited 3 schools and taught 2 CPR champions in each school how to do CPR, and how to teach CPR to their peers using playful learning. In each school the CPR champions led how their sessions would be delivered, developing their own facilitation style in our half an hour workshop with them. We then left the equipment they needed and a tally sheet, for them to spend Restart a Heart Day training as many people in their school as they could!
The sessions were full of energy, laughter, and that special Splat spark that helps people remember what to do when it matters most. Learners practiced compressions to music, tested their confidence in playful challenges, and left knowing they could really make a difference in an emergency.
Across 3 schools, 6 CPR Champions trained an astounding 294 children and teachers in just one day!
And while the day was incredible, it left us thinking:
👉 What if that energy could last all year round?
👉 What if young people could become CPR leaders in their own schools?
That’s how our BRAND NEW affordable and accessible product for schools CPR Champions was born…
🧡 Introducing CPR Champions

CPR Champions turns two to four students into real-life lifesaving leaders.
We spend a fun, hands-on session 30 minute session training them in the essentials of CPR and coaching them in how to confidently teach these skills to others in a style that suits them.
Then, the excitement begins!
For one whole week, your CPR Champions become the teachers — spreading their new skills across your school. Whether they take over classrooms, host mini-sessions in break times, or create their own CPR challenges, it’s all about peer learning, playful leadership, and lifesaving confidence.
It’s the perfect way to keep the Restart a Heart spirit alive all year, teaching children and young people how to save a life will stay with them forever. Start them with life saving skills from primary age!Â
🎯 Why It Matters
Restart a Heart Day is one day — but every day is a chance to save a life.
With CPR Champions, we’re helping schools create ripples of confidence, knowledge, and care that reach far beyond the classroom.
Because when people learn through play, they remember.
And when they remember, they can save a life.
