First Aid provision, 4 things to consider:

1, How many qualified staff? This one depends on the number of staff, the risk you face and the size of your workplace. Split it into zones and consider 1 first aider per zone. Have a go at our requirements calculator

2, What should be in our first aid kits and how many do we need? Each first aider should have access to a first aid kit; Sm, Med or Lg depending on the no. of people in that zone. Your kit should comply with BS 8599-1 and check contents are in date.

3, Are we recording our accidents? It’s not shameful to have a few completed accident forms in fact, we’d expect you to! Oh and don’t forget the near misses!

4, Should we install a defibrillator? Consider if there is one nearbye, have a look at this map If there isn’t one nearbye get one, it’s great PR if you share it with the community.

COVID-19 UPDATE 06/01/21

The First Aid Quality Partnership (FAQP) met on the 5th January 2021 to discuss the impact of the latest        lockdown restrictions on the delivery of First Aid training. The key message resulting from this meeting was:

“The provision of First Aid qualifications can continue to be delivered in line with existing COVID-secure guidelines”

This means we can go ahead with training, we are already following all the covid safe procedures. Remember First Aid Training is about saving lives. We must keep our skills up to date.

If you have bookings during this new lockdown we will be in touch. If you have any questions are shielding or otherwise concerned call Amy on 07796872170

Stay warm and cosy and use this time well x
